Welcome to the Stephanie Greenwell Photography Blog

My photo
Serving the Southeast Missouri area including Hayti, Caruthersville, Portageville, and Kennett

Welcome to my blog! I hope you'll stay awhile and get a few laughs at my everyday life. I'm a mother to four great kiddos and married to a stud-muffin. (It makes him feel better!) Life is always what you make it and to tell the truth, I couldn't make it any better than it is. Photography has allowed me capture the lives of my children in a way that I couldn't imagine. And now it's what I love to do. Let me capture your loves, your laughters, your lives.

[Lifestyle]Children:Charles Avery

Yesterday, I posted a sneak peek of Charles Avery's toot-i-ful session, so I got a few more images to post for his mom. Today is going to be a relaxing day for me, so sit back and enjoy!

[Sneak Peak]Children:Charles Avery

Charles Avery is quite the lively little dude, although he didn't start out showing his true personality when we met up this morning. Oh, but he gave a full exposure of his zany, funny side within 10 minutes of shooting: he unabashedly tooted in front of me and we laughed our butts off!

That's what I love about kids. They have no shame in letting it all out, whether it be their thoughts or their bodily functions! And when it's kids, us adults can't help but laugh out loud, maybe secretly hoping we can do the same without reservation.

Charles Avery, his mom and I traveled to a few locations to get for our session and it seemed like it went by so fast! Especially since I've been up since 3:30 a.m. with 3 hours of rest--thank you Charles Avery for the entertainment that made me forget about my night of unrest!

I had a great time this morning and we enjoyed quite a few laughs and delightful conversations about girlfriends and toots. Thanks mom for being quite the patient and helpful mom; now, enjoy your previews from the session!

[Lifestyle] Children:Charlee

I just wanted to post a few more pics from little Charlee's session last week. I went on vacation the day after her shoot, so I only got to post a few sneak peeks for her Mom and Dad (and aunt, uncle, grandparents, etc.!) I have another shoot in the morning, so stay tuned for another sneak peek!

[Sneak Peek] Children:Charlee

This Florida baby came to enjoy a couple of weeks with her grandparents and aunt and uncle and a host of other relatives. She's sweet, adorable and has the biggest, prettiest blue eyes!

She wasn't much into me and my camera, but more into being chased and checking out the pretty flowers in her Gee-Maw's flower bed. For now, I'm posting a quick sneak peek because even though they didn't expect to view any images tonight, I thought a nice surprise before Charlee and her daddy left to head back to beautiful, sunny, non-mosquito infested Florida would be a nice treat on my part.

Enjoy the images and I will have more later! Chris and Charlee, have a safe trip back and be thankful for lovebugs instead of our state bird, the mosquito!!

[Senior] Meredith

Meredith. n \mer-a-deth\: Funny. Goofy. Charmingly beautiful.

I've known Meredith, or "Mere-Mere" as she is affectionately called by my kids, since the day she was born. I'm now dating myself seeing that she is now a senior! Mere really is a cool chick: she works, she cheers, she plays guitar, and she's all-around fun.

I was looking forward to our session because anyone watching two goofballs, one of us pregnant, drive around Dyersburg(yeah, we went out of town!) and jump out at random places to get some great shots, might think we're some lost tourists or some escapees from the Dyer County jail!

Mere even found this random chair sitting outside a building and immediately she said, "Oooh, I want to take pictures sitting in that chair!" (Great eye, by the way!) So, we did and I love them!! She even endured spiders in one location, she's such a great sport, anything for the shot.

We did have a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and a few semi-serious conversations about boys, plans for after school, and books not being the same as the movies made based on them. I know, we're deeeeeeeeppp.

Mere, I love you, hon. You're a natural beauty who doesn't even realize it, with your unpretentious ways and radiating laughter. I hope you enjoy your "supermodel" status with the images and I look forward to our other sessions! Much love to ya!

[Sneak Peek] Senior:Meredith

I was so looking forward to this evening's session: one super fun senior! I told Meredith that I didn't know if I would get a sneak peek up until tomorrow, but I was so excited after looking at some of her shots and had to start the editing process!

Is she super hot or is she SUPER-DUPER HOT? Enjoy your little peak, dear! More to come later!

[Lifestyle] Children:Reeves

It was a crazy morning for me. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. to make one of my many nightly bathroom trips and then I couldn't go back to sleep. I started to fretting over what and where I was going to shoot my darling little subjects. Then I started thinking about silly things to say, how much longer I would take sessions while I'm pregnant, and on and on and on. Must be the pregnancy anxiety and hormones.

So, I tossed and turned. I closed my eyes. Sleep eluded me, no doubt. It was a runaway to which no Amber alert could be issued.

When I got up out of the bed at 6 a.m., I was on a roll. I was excited, probably adrenaline, to shoot today's subjects. I showed up to some pretty little girls, Mary Grace & Emily, and a somewhat unhappy-to-see-me little boy, Owen, albeit adorable as could be. But with a little coaxing, and the ability for him to see my images after I took them, he warmed up to me in no time. Mom was worried about it; of course I reassured her that no subjects could be harder than shooting my own children...trust me, Jen!

The weather was overcast which was perfect for shooting. I didn't have too much to worry about finding shade. We started out in their back yard, then moved to some downtown locations.

Owen has this tattered-with-love lovie that he absolutely adores, as you'll be able to tell. Mom said that the blanket was fully intact when the girls used it as babies, then Owen got a hold of it, and well, you'll see.

I also go to get some shots of Dottie. Sweet dachsund Dottie. She was a happy subject of sorts, and little too busy running around to worry about getting pictures taken.

Jen, I had a great day with you and your beautiful children. I enjoyed meeting them and being entertained by Owen. And it was also nice to catch up, seeing that these days, visiting with friends is lower on my todem pole! I hope you enjoy them!

[Events] Birthday:Braxton, Part II

I posted a blog yesterday referring to the awesome birthday party I got to shoot, mainly of images of the adorably sweet details. Today, I just wanted to include some adorably cute images of the birthday boy and some of his guests.

And when I say adorable, I mean, seriously, this kid has it all: cuteness, chunkiness, bright blue eyes, pure sweetness, chunkiness, a sweet smile, good demeanor, and did I mention chunkiness? Oh, how I love chunky babies!

Happy 1st Birthday, Braxton! You're a total heartbreaker at such a young age!
