Welcome to the Stephanie Greenwell Photography Blog

My photo
Serving the Southeast Missouri area including Hayti, Caruthersville, Portageville, and Kennett

Welcome to my blog! I hope you'll stay awhile and get a few laughs at my everyday life. I'm a mother to four great kiddos and married to a stud-muffin. (It makes him feel better!) Life is always what you make it and to tell the truth, I couldn't make it any better than it is. Photography has allowed me capture the lives of my children in a way that I couldn't imagine. And now it's what I love to do. Let me capture your loves, your laughters, your lives.

[Senior] Erin | Dyersburg Tennessee Senior Photography

All I can say about this senior is I totally need to get my butt to the gym! Consistently! I want those legs! Well, I don't think any amount of exercise will make them long, but I use to have that toned look, ah, back in the stone ages!!!

Really, though. This session with Erin was fun, as are my senior sessions. I think it's because they are so excited to get out of high school, and I totally get it. I was there once too. And just so you know, the summer after graduation is one to remember because college is next, but high school is behind you.

Erin is a total sweetheart and we had a fun time trying out new locations. We managed to have another beautiful day and a little less windy than usual. We topped off the shoot at her beautiful home, complete with an open pool in the backyard. I'll admit it, I soooo wanted to jump in! But I didn't have an extra set of clothes, so I nipped that idea.

Erin, as I've said before, you totally rocked your session! Those magnificent legs helped to bring a few ideas to mind and helped to make my job easier. Enjoy your final weeks of high school and best wishes as you head to college!

[Senior] Jake | South Pemiscot Missouri Senior Photography

Awesome. To the tenth power.

That's what Jakob is. Seriously. Not only was he a fun, outgoing guy, his middle name is Sloan.

Jakob. Sloan. Ah, that name says it all.

I met up with Jake for his shoot and he was all about it. Seeing that I've only had a couple of senior guy shoots, I'm used to the "I'm-cool-and-my-mom-is-making-me-take-senior-pictures" kind of attitude from the guys. Oh, not Jake.

Jake was ready to throw out the laughs, smiles and even the GQ stares. We hit it off because, well, we're awesome. And we had a lot in common about music. (I'm so glad that even at my almost 32 years of age, I can still relate to 18 year olds through music. Eh, except for that hard-core stuff, I'm soooooo over that now.)

So, we trekked around Steele and since I've never shot there before, it was a nice change of scenery. And I love finding new locations. We finished up at his high school, something I think every senior should do.

Jake, you are one cool dude, I tell ya. You totally made my day when you told me you thought I was about 25 or 26. Oh, you dear sweet boy!! I had a great time with you and your mom and sis, and I know you'll have an awesome future in front of you! Best wishes!

[Senior] Hannah | Hayti Missouri Senior Photography

I have to say this. I have an awesome job in photography. I love it, I have fun with it, and I have some really great clients. I feel very honored when someone contacts me to be their photographer, whether it's babies, kids, seniors, or whatever. I'm even more overwhelmed with joy when a client comes back for a second shoot. Such is the case with Hannah.

See, Hannah wanted a two-season session. Her winter session hit just as we were seeing the last of our snow. But what a difference a few weeks can make! Spring has sprung and that means graduation is right.around.the.corner. (I know many parents are either incredibly sad or incredibly thankful!)

For Hannah's session this time, I've had an idea in my head for a few weeks now to shoot at B&C Lumber Co(and thanks go to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis for allowing me to shoot there). It has all the makings that a lumber shed should be: wood, tin buildings, and random things to shoot. I think the added femininity of Hannah's wardrobe just made for a totally hip senior session.

And of course, Hannah and her mother are too much fun, we just laugh and cackle too much! Hannah is a true beauty, both inside and out, and she's incredibly smart to boot. What a bright future she has!

Girl, you are too sweet. Thank you for choosing me for not one, but two senior sessions. You totally rocked out your special day and the following images are nothing short of amazing, thanks to you. Best wishes on your soon-to-be-here graduation!

[Sneak Peek] Senior | Hayti Missouri Senior Photographer

Here's a late Easter peek at this weekend's senior shoot. (And you've actually already seen her here.)
