Serving the Southeast Missouri area including Hayti, Caruthersville, Portageville, and Kennett

Welcome to my blog! I hope you'll stay awhile and get a few laughs at my everyday life. I'm a mother to four great kiddos and married to a stud-muffin. (It makes him feel better!) Life is always what you make it and to tell the truth, I couldn't make it any better than it is. Photography has allowed me capture the lives of my children in a way that I couldn't imagine. And now it's what I love to do. Let me capture your loves, your laughters, your lives.

[Lifestyle] Children:Blair | Caruthersville Missouri Photographer

She's sweet. She's adorable. And she's shy as can be. But guess what? I got her to open up to me to provide some of the sweetest images ever!

Miss Blair didn't know what to think of me. First off, it's 7:30 in the morning. Second, she has no idea who I am. Third, well, I'm a little boisterous in the morning, with a big belly! Good thing the weather was beautifully cool for a late August day, otherwise I wouldn't have been as lively if it had been hot like it should be!

Blair really is shy, but once she opened up, she was having a great time with me, in her own little way. I even got her to talk to me! She had some adorable little outfits and I especially loved her pink ruffled dress; Blair said she is a princess in it! I believe her mommy and daddy think she's a princess in anything!

We went to my usual locations, but with her pretty pink ruffled dress, I captured some sweet-as-pumpkin-pie images that I'm sure her family will love. We also went to her Mimi's house so she could get some pictures with her Mimi's little Yorkie puppies and Blair's dog, Toot.

I enjoyed my morning with Miss Blair. Mom, she is a little angel, a sweetheart to behold. Thanks for the great morning and I hope you enjoy your images!

[Lifestyle] Children:MaryAllyn & Carter

This past weekend I got to shoot another friend's little munchkins. As a matter of fact, my son and Carter were born just a few weeks apart, and up until last year when they started different preschools, they had been together every week day at day care. And they became best friends. So much so, that Mom and I would get sad over thinking that they wouldn't be at school together and time would all but erase their memories of the shared friendship that they had as babies, toddlers, little boys. It even makes me tear up as I type. Again, I digress...and get all mushy again.

Well, since the hormones are kicking in, I'll get back to the details of the day. I know Mary Allyn and Carter, so I knew that we'd have fun. And we did. The day was unusually cool for an August day in the Bootheel, like 68 degrees while we were out in the morning. Cool, yes, but comfortable for me? Darn skippy!

We went to a few locations and I got them to ham it up for me, and I certainly got what I wanted. Shooting on location can get kind of, well, yucky, and Mary Allyn asked, "How do you find these places?" I let her know that we do it all in the name of getting a great shot! I believe she secretly enjoyed getting down and dirty in the nooks of town!

Carter was all about having a good time, I don't think he was that interested in my camera, but nevertheless, I got some really great happy shots of him. He really liked the broken glass in one locale, but the best thing that worked on him? Letting him take pictures of me, pregnant swollen-face me!

We also went to their house to photograph the kids with their beloved Weimaraner, Chance, and I got a great shot of Mary Allyn receiving a juicy kiss from Chance.

Mom, thanks for the great morning and I'm glad I got to visit with the world-traveler if only for a short time! The kids were fun and funny as usual--I hope you love your images!

[Lifestyle] Children:Kelsey & Keaton

We had a great time shooting this session. Mr. Keaton is quite a funny dude for an early morning shoot! Mom says she doesn't have any good pictures of him with a real smile, but I believe I captured what she's looking for in her son--his real smiles!

Miss Kelsey is a beauty pageant winner and she loves being in them! Mom wanted some natural shots of her natural beauty, with her long blonde locks and striking blue eyes. She's also a hoot, and I could see the light in her eyes when she talks about being in pageants.

Mom, I hope you enjoy the images of your little darlings! I had a great time with them!

[Senior] Merideth

I mentioned on Merideth's sneak peek about her fabulously long legs. Can you say I'm fixated on them? Do you know why? Well, back in the day, I loved my legs: strong, toned, but not long. But now, let's just say, they are not as toned, but they are strong because they are supporting the extra weight and baby to be. But long, they will never be. Okay, enough about legs, unless we're talking fried chicken legs, of which I don't even like, but my kids do. I digress...

We had a great senior session this past Saturday. I'm really lovin' the senior sessions; it fills my inner Vogue-model wannabe, because the good Lord knows Stephanie and trendsetter is one heck of an oxymoron! The seniors have been rockin' out the wardrobes, and since I'm pregnant(I know, "How many times is she going to mention she's pregnant?" As much as I want to...), the best I can come up with is a comfy, stretchy top, cropped pants and flats. Merideth's gold shoes just shows how far I've come from being a cool teen.

I really love these shots because I found some new nooks and crannies from which to shoot. We thought we might have to reschedule due to some minor sprinkles, but the morning turned out beautiful. Merideth's mom is very proud and she should be, and no less than once did a tear roll down her face. I'm sure there will be plenty of moms feeling this way before these kids walk across the stage to the next step in life.

Merideth and Lori, I had a great time during this session. Thanks so much and I won't tell anyone if you cry at the following images! :)

[Sneak Peek] Senior:Merideth

This morning, I had my third senior session of the 2009-10 year. I also had leg envy. You know, the kind were you see someone with outrageously long legs and yours look like stubs. Yeah, that kind of envy.

Meredith is a beauty and she played it up in today's shoot, along with her legs, who deserve their own zip code! For now, I'm posting a few images of her fabulousity and I will be posting more in the next few days. Keep checking back!

[Senior] Lindsey

I love shooting seniors! I mean, I love shooting kids and babies, well, everyone, but seniors let me shoot in some funky ways and of course, they dress like I wish I still could. Pregnancy doesn't allow for the latest in clothing trends, although there are cute maternity clothes out there, I just don't want to spend a lot of money on things I won't wear for too long.

Lindsey's mom contacted me for her senior shoot a couple of months ago. I was so excited because at the time, I had only shot two seniors from last school year. We met up late Friday afternoon, and I'm amazed at how fast time flies. Lindsey looks like a grown little lady, especially since I've known here since she was like 4 years old!

Our session took place in Lindsey's hometown and at first, I was sweatin' it over not really finding as much as I wanted in terms of locations. But then again, my creativity always kicks in at the last minute! We got to represent: Dad's company Case, is showcased with a brand spankin' new tractor. And my favorite shots came from an old, abandoned, NASTY chair sitting out in an alley, and I think the shots look so kewl.

We had a lot of fun and it was nice to catch up with her, Mom and Big Sis, who is due with her first child in December. (Keep an eye out because I'll be shooting that little one too!) Thanks for the great time and I hope you luuuuuurve your shots!
